The non-pedigree cat or moggy is one of the most popular choices of domesticated cats. Most moggies will not have any kind of pedigree breed influence in them. Unlike pedigrees, you never really know how a moggy will turn out, personality wise, although with good socialization from an early age there's no reason he shouldn't make a fantastic pet. Available for adoption from your local rescue centre for a small donation, he will still need to be vaccinated, flead and wormed regularly. The average lifespan of a moggy is 15 to 20 years and they are usually a hardy, medium build cat. Their coat length, colour and pattern can vary. The random patches of black and white is fairly unique to non-pedigrees. Common looks include tabby, tortoiseshell and solid colours, any of these with white. Moggies are usually good natured, friendly and highly adaptable cats.

Remember! All breed profiles are general and every cat is an individual.
