Turkish Vankedisi Breed Profile

Turkish Vankedisi fact file

Intelligence: Very much
Quiet: Not especially
Good with dogs?: Very much
Good with children: Very much
Love the outdoors?: Reasonably
Grooming: Reasonably

Vankedisi have similar characteristics to the Turkish Van. The coat is soft and silky (with no undercoat) and eyes may be blue or amber (or one of each). The bone structure is broad, muscular and deepchested. The mountainous region of their origin endures extreme temperatures, and these cats shed their long hair for a shorter coat in the summer. Tufts of fur between protect their paws from both icy chills and burning heat.

They also have the same repuation for loving water, so expectant owners should be willing to share their shower!

Remember! All breed profiles are general and every cat is an individual.
