As demands for more clips flooded in, Simon admits he worried a lot more when it came to ‘TV Dinner’.

With such a hit on his hands, the new film had a lot to live up to. However, ‘Simon’s Cat’ fans were not disappointed. ‘Sooo true to life that it made me laugh to tears,’ says one. ‘So funny ‘cos they are so true,’ writes another.

So who is the ‘TV Dinner’ cat whose tactics to distract his owner from the TV  include clawing the arm of the sofa, miaowing in his ear, climbing onto his lap and kneading his chest, stretching out across the sofa when he gets up to answer his mobile phone so he can’t sit back down and finally turning off the TV with the remote?

“It was based on eight-year-old Jess,” explains Simon. “I got her in 2000 after seeing an ad in the paper. She is like an old fuddy-duddy grandma; very frail and really shy. She’s a one-man cat with not a lot of time for anyone else. She is never far from my side and stays in all day long. She is always on my lap and loves a big fuss.”
