TOPIC: Long day

Long day 4 Months, 3 Weeks ago
Arrived at hospital at 7am and got her settled into her bed. Usual checks blood pressure etc. She was the second on the list and she went in at about 11 am, out of theatre half hour later. After she had woke up, she started to cry as her ankle was sore and also effects of the drugs.
She was sick before she left hospital, and in the car going home, but they gave us bowls for her to use. We got home about 5.45pm. She was still abit teary but she slept for a few hours and has now eaten/drank something and is feeling a bit better.
Her ankle is strapped up for two weeks, no school now till after easter, and she has to go back to get her bandage changed next week.
I felt abit teary when she came out of theatre as she was in so much pain.
Doctor said that there was alot of black stuff around the metal plate and it's a good job that we had it removed. Her leg had had allergic reaction to the metal, that's probably why she was in so much pain.

What a relief it is over. She will feel better just for being in her own home with familiar surroundings. I heeard pof someone else who had a reaction to the metal and had to have something different. Hope you all have a peaceful night.

Hi Cia,
Yes it's been a long day, we've been up since 5.30 am and we are all pretty tired and still a bit bewildered by it all, but glad it's over and she can recover in her own time.

Did you go to a Orthapedic Hostipal? I was also at one today. My Other half had to go and have treatment. It was in London. The Royal National Orthapedic Hospital. We got back about 3 thank goodness.

We have two hospitals here, the district one, and the other does day care and other ops.
It was an Orthapedic ward that she was on and everybody was so nice and really patient with Tina.
