Issue Summary

It’s been great to recently speak (over email) to some Your Cat subscribers. There was a range of feedback on the magazine; some thanking us for a prize they had won, a few wanting to know why the number of Cat Chat pages had been reduced, and others getting in touch to say they’d enjoyed a particular feature.

What's in this Issue?

It’s always great to hear from you. I mention it a lot, but make no apology for it as I don’t think it can be said enough: the magazine is nothing without the readers. There are millions of cat owners out there, but to delve into Your Cat Magazine means you really love cats — and we appreciate that you’re part of the brilliant Your Cat community.

Of course, it’s heartening to get lovely comments. Every member of the Your Cat team does their job because we want the magazine to have a positive impact on your love of cats. When we get nice messages, it confirms that we’re doing just that.

It is just as nice receiving constructive criticism though — genuinely. We want to provide more of the content you want to read. You’ll notice that the Cat Chat section is back up to three pages this issue. With the pandemic and home working, the number of letters we received did dip. However, I love sharing your stories and as long as we have enough to fill it, the Cat Chat section will be three pages — so keep writing to us!

To give you an insight, one of the things I always pour over is the different types of content we bring. Have we got lots of practical advice from experts? Are there plenty of amazing stories about cats that you wouldn’t get anywhere else? Are there chances for readers to tell their stories? Every issue, we try to bring great variety. There are some tricky decisions to be made, but being the editor is an absolute joy!

I hope this month’s magazine delivers that and look forward to hearing from more of you in the future.
