Issue Summary

New year, new start — we’re all used to hearing this type of mantra as a new year approaches. Well, when it comes to 2021, let’s hope that this truly is the case. It would be great to see the world return to some form of normality. Closer to home, we can all use the new year to make positive changes to our lives — and to the lives of our cats. That’s what the lead feature is about this month.

What's in this Issue?

New year, new start — we’re all used to hearing this type of mantra as a new year approaches. Well, when it comes to 2021, let’s hope that this truly is the case. It would be great to see the world return to some form of normality.

Closer to home, we can all use the new year to make positive changes to our lives — and to the lives of our cats. That’s what the lead feature is about this month. If your cat could choose your new year’s resolutions, what would they pick? We ask a range of feline experts for their best suggestions. When making your resolutions for 2021, consider making one for your feline companion — it could make your relationship even better.

On top of the lead feature, there is lots of great practical advice in this issue. We’ve got top tips about feline winter care (page 26), while the ‘Less Stress’ series reaches its finale looking at feline anxiety. I really hope you have found this series beneficial. With Clare’s expertise, we wanted to reveal some of the lesser known signs of feline stress and how you can help your cat to relax.

We always strive to bring you amazing stories about cats that you won’t find anywhere else — and this issue doesn’t disappoint. The ‘Hero Cats’ feature (page 24) tells the stories of two cats who provided incredible support to two owners struggling with their mental well-being. While this month’s ‘Real Life’ (page 18) feature is a great read about how one person made her love of cats into a business.

The Your Cat community has also had its say this month. The long-running Your Cat Product Awards are prestigious and we are proud to reveal the products you have picked as your winners — turn to page 30 to see who has taken home the honours.

Until next month,

Michael Hallam, Editor.
