When the ‘Purrs from Paris’ box arrived at my door, I was excited to find out what goodies were inside. Obviously, I love to treat my cat to new things, but I was intrigued as to what French-themed fancies were in store for me – as all of us cat ladies deserve a treat too!

Product Review by Laura Wright and her cat, Eponine (Epi).

The first thing I noticed about this box was the colour. The black and white cardboard box with cute cartoon pictures of cats and the Cattitude Box logo is simple, yet inviting. Once you open up the box, you’ll find a card listing each product that is inside, along with information on how to be in with a chance of winning a free box.

The first thing that jumped out at me, due to its sheer brightness, was the square, cat-patterned scarf. With a vibrant mixture of colours, in a beautiful silk material, this scarf is perfect for any cat lover who likes to make a bold fashion statement. Then there is the ‘Un Deux Trois Cat’ t-shirt, inspired by a classic French joke, which came in black with white cats and writing – perfect for my monochrome wardrobe!

I’m beginning to see a pattern with the human gifts, as they’re all based around fashion. Which now explains the name of this box, seeing as Paris is well known for its fashionistas. The compact mirror, painted and printed in France, is designed by the very talented French artist Alice Robert, and should fit into any cat lady’s handbag. The vintage kitty pattern wardrobe sachet handmade by Anglo French artist Julie Hill from Lavender Cottage Creations, is filled with true Provençal lavender – the scent is gorgeous, and I can’t wait to hang it up in my wardrobe! Lastly, you’ll find a handmade cat-shaped French lavender soap, that comes packaged in a sweet little parcel, tied with string and labelled with a small wooden plaque. I expect that this 100% natural, vegan-friendly soap from Bowman & Rogers will be gentle to the skin, and I’m definitely looking forward to using it – there’s also a little rope attached to hang it in the shower.

Now, the first thing Epi noticed about this delivery, other than rubbing her head all over the box, were the Scrumbles ‘Gnashers’ cat treats – as soon as the pack shakes, she’ll come running! These treats are great for helping with your cat’s dental care as they provide the crunch required to rub away plaque, are made with natural ingredients, and are grain free. There is also an 85g pot of Scrumbles chicken cat food, and as we all know, most cats love a bit of chicken.

The other items for the cat are two super-cute French themed catnip toys. One is shaped like a baguette, an unofficial symbol of France, and the other is shaped like a bottle of wine, as France is a famous wine-producing country. I can’t wait to let Epi enjoy a tasty French bread stick and nice bottle of white on a Friday night! These handmade cat toys are stuffed with organic catnip, so be sure to keep an eye on your kitty when they’re playing with these.

Overall, I think that the selection of items inside this box are fantastic. It's quite clear that both the gifts for the human and the gifts for the cat have been perfectly planned out, and a lot of thought has gone into how well they complement the month’s theme.
