Feline Friends London
London, United Kingdom, N16 8SW
Feline Friends London was founded in July 2013 with the aim of offering sanctuary to cats at risk of unnecessary euthanasia and to help cats & kittens in need in LB Hackney. FFL has since grown into a network of cat rescuers and volunteers, with the scope of the charity now encompassing much of London. FFL has a non-euthanasia policy and aims to help feral, stray and unwanted cats & kittens have a second chance.
We do this by rescuing, fostering & socialising cats & kittens, including those with chronic conditions and behaviour problems. We help elderly & disabled people who benefit from pet ownership, and work together with local authorities, social services, the NHS, the police, other animal charities, rescue workers and vets to promote neutering and good cat welfare. We do not promote cat breeding but feel it is important that breeders are registered with the Governing Council of the Cat Fancy, www.gccfcats.org, and adhere to their ethical standards, which place welfare before breeding. We are all volunteers and rely entirely on donations to vet check, provide treatment, neutering and foster care for the unwanted, stray and feral cats & kittens in our care until we find them a permanent home. All donations go entirely on helping the cats in our care.
We work out of our own homes, do not have a rescue centre and are reliant on fosterers for the care of our cats. Feline Friends London works closely with LB Hackney, helping them win the RSPCA’s Innovator’s Award in 2014 for their work with cats in the borough, and are an Animal Partner of Battersea Dogs & Cats Home.
