Grooming expert Anita Kelsey explains how often you should clean your cat's ears, and the best way to do it.

Look inside your cat’s ears at least once a week.

The ears may not need a clean and you will quickly notice if they do or not, but looking does help ensure the ears remain healthy looking with no parasites or infections. You can buy feline ear cleaning solutions, but I use a dab of olive oil on soft cotton wool. The olive oil soaks up the dirt and grease, and will leave your cat’s ears clean and grime free.

Don’t dig deep into the ear but scoop around the outer edges and in the outer crevices.
